Magruder High School graduate Bongani Ndebele was recently named a Transform Mid-Atlantic Civic Fellow at George Washington University. Ndebele, was one of two students named fellows for their leadership on campus and propensity to create change both at the university and in Washington, D.C.
The 2024 high school commencement season is set to begin on Wednesday, May 29, and will end Wednesday, June 12. Graduation ceremonies will take place on individual high school campuses, at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., and on the campuses of Mount St. Mary’s University and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. More than 11,000 students are expected to receive their diplomas. The ceremonies will include an array of commencement speakers, including TV reporters, politicians, educators, MCPS staff members and others.
The Unofficial 2024 Presidential Primary Election Results for Montgomery County are available with almost all Election Day precincts reporting, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections as of 5am on Wednesday morning:
A total of 152 MCPS educators achieved certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) in 2023, and 109 were on hand to receive their pins in a ceremony on May 7. Montgomery College will recognize the class of 2024 at the 77th Annual Commencement Exercises this Friday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m. on the Rockville Campus Athletic Field. The College will recognize students from the Germantown, Rockville and Takoma Park/Silver Spring campuses, Workforce Development and Continuing Education programs, the Board of Trustees Academic Excellence honorees, and the four honorary degree recipients.
