Offutt is approximately 4-feet tall and weighs 85 pounds. He has hazel eyes and black hair and was last seen wearing a black and red Nike hoodie, blue jeans and gray Crocs. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.

It was originally founded in 1999 by a Doctor of Chiropractic with “a vision to transform the traditional, often misunderstood concept of routine chiropractic care by making it more convenient, friendly and affordable.” In March 2010, The Joint was re-founded with the acquisition of the original eight franchised clinics.


Earlier today Montgomery County based women’s clothing company Kind Cotton donated over 800 books to Whestone Elementary School in Montgomery Village, enough for every student and teacher.  The company, which has donated over 85,000 books nationwide, donates a book for every item purchased from their website. Per Kind Cotton: Whetstone Elementary students had a surprise this morning when they each had an opportunity to browse over 100 books and choose one to take home, courtesy of Kind Cotton, a Maryland-based brand with a mission to promote and encourage childhood literacy throughout the United States. In total, Kind Cotton provided over 800 books to Whetstone Elementary this morning for free during their first ever book fair.

“We were so excited to receive books for every child at our school. This means so much for the Whetstone family. We are incredibly grateful to all the work Kind Cotton has done to get books into the hands of every child here”, Teacher, Mollie Kane stated. I Believe I Can was the book of choice for the entire school. A vast majority of the books Kind Cotton donates focus on inclusion with a message of empathy, justice, and kindness. “We wanted to do something really special for an elementary school here in Montgomery County because it’s where we are establishing our roots and we were beyond excited to hear that Whetstone Elementary wanted to work with us”, said Kaitlin Johnstone, co-founder of Kind Cotton. “Along with spreading kindness, our primary goal is to promote and encourage literacy, so to be able to provide these books to the students and educators of Whetstone makes us really proud.” Kind Cotton sells clothing and accessories designed to spread compassion and empathy, with every purchase helping to provide books to children globally.  To date, they have donated over 85,000 books nationally.


ALDI is currently running a “Thanksgiving Price Rewind”  now through November 29 at all of its locations. The grocery chain is matching 2019 prices, up to a 30% discount,  on holiday food items marked with a red sticker. “Think favorites like brie cheese, prosciutto, cornbread stuffing, award-winning wines, mini quiches, fresh brown-and-serve rolls, macarons and apple pie, to name a few. Shoppers can look for the Thanksgiving Price Rewind icon in their local ad and throughout the store for extra savings,” the company said in a press release.  Aldi has MoCo locations in Gaithersburg, Germantown, Kensington, Montgomery Village, Rockville, Silver Spring, and Takoma Park.


The investigation by detectives has determined that after the adult male victim parked his blue 2015 Toyota Corolla at the location, three suspects approached him. Two of the suspects produced a handgun, demanded the victim’s car and forcibly removed him from the Toyota. One of the suspects took the victim’s cell phone and threw it away. The suspects left the scene in the Toyota Corolla towards Snouffer School Rd.


Hogabs Jerky at 19332 Montgomery Village Ave (formerly TV-VCR Repair) has closed. The specialty beef jerky shop opened for business in October 2021. No word on what will be replacing Hogabs, but an announcement is expected in the next few weeks. Montgomery County Police are investigating a pedestrian collision that occurred last night in Montgomery Village. According to MCPD: “At approximately 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, November 10, 2022, officers from the 6th district and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Club House Road at Brassie Place for the report of a pedestrian struck.  For reasons unknown, an adult male was lying in the roadway when he was struck.  The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.  The striking vehicle remained on scene.  This is an active and ongoing investigation.” We will post an update when additional information becomes available.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in Montgomery Village on Thursday, November 10, around 7:30pm. According to MCPD, the victim was stuck by a vehicle on Clubhouse Road & Brassie Place and has been transported by EMS with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. We will post an update when more information becomes available.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision late Sunday night in front of Fire Station 708 in Gaithersburg on Montgomery Village Ave and Russell Ave, according to Battalion Fire Chief James Carpenter.

The collision occurred at approximately 10:15pm and led to three patients being evaluated with non-life threatening injuries. One person was transported to the hospital following the collision. Additional photos below, per acting PIO James Carpenter.
