The City of Gaithersburg has installed a new Wind Phone in the Kentlands area, providing residents with a quiet space to reflect, remember and connect with loved ones who have passed away.

If you’ve driven through Germantown recently and noticed crowds gathering near the Lancaster County Dutch Market, chances are you’ve seen Garfield Dorsey, the Gaithersburg native attracting customers from across Montgomery County and beyond with his colorful selection of red, orange, and yellow watermelons (see social media post below). Dorsey’s schedule, locations, and hours can be found on his social media pages, where he regularly posts updates throughout the season. He can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
Construction is moving rapidly at the former Party City space in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, where permanent signage has now been installed for Wonder.

Montgomery County Health Officer Dr. Kisha Davis has issued a localized public health advisory for portions of the Muddy Branch watershed and nearby stormwater ponds in North Potomac after elevated levels of PFAS, commonly known as “forever chemicals,” were detected in water samples near Great Seneca Highway and Key West Avenue.

The search for a missing Maryland boater with ties to Gaithersburg has been suspended after an extensive multi-agency effort covering thousands of square nautical miles off the coast of Ocean City.
