Dog Haus Biergarten will open a new location at 1837 M St NW, DC on Monday, February 19th. This will be local Dog Haus franchisees Faizan and Adila Khan’s first location outside of Montgomery County.
Last month we let you know that Peterson Companies, which owns Rio Lakefront, submitted an application that proposes to add a floating pier for Guapo’s restaurant. The Gaithersburg Planning Commission approved the plan at last night’s meeting.

Andrew Steven Martin, age 30, of Silver Spring, Maryland, has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of ammunition and to unlawful possession of U.S. Postal Service keys used to access U.S. Postal Service mail receptacles after arrest during traffic stop in Gaithersburg.
Last year, IKEA announced plans to open new format IKEA stores in Fairfax, Virginia, and Gaithersburg, Maryland, in fall 2023. Signage went up in September at the Gaithersburg location (101 Boardwalk Place Ste 102- the former home of Charming Charlie) and now interior construction is progressing. A few people working on the store told us they hope to open in late March or early April.
Kara Hibachi & Sushi, which opened in the Potomac Valley Shopping Center across from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg in 2020, has closed. A representative from the restaurant has told us that a new restaurant will be taking its place within a couple of weeks.
