First New Tenant Signs on at 9801 Washingtonian Blvd as Sodexo Exits For Pike & Rose

Last November we let you know that Sodexo committed its U.S. headquarters to 915 Meeting Street, a new 276,000-square-foot trophy office building that recently opened in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose development. Sodexo’s headquarters are currently located at 9801 Washingtonian Blvd in Gaithersburg (next to Rio Lakefront). The firm pulled a permit toward a $5.59 million fitout of 51,907 square feet at the North Bethesda building, and now Prime US REIT has signed the first tenant that will take part of the space vacated by Sodexo

Per Montgomery County: “In celebration of its 15th year, the Gaithersburg Book Festival will host former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins for a special free event from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, at the Asbury Methodist Village Rosborough Cultural Arts Center in Gaithersburg. Community Meeting on Renovation of Historic Gaithersburg Park Takes Place on January 21

Montgomery Parks is inviting the public to discuss future renovations to Johnson’s Local Park in Gaithersburg. A previously scheduled meeting was cancelled due to winter weather concerns. The new meeting date is January 21, 2024.

Crash on I-270 Involving Several Vehicles and Tractor-Trailer Blocks Lanes Tuesday Morning

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) has responded to a crash on northbound I-270, past exit 9 (I-370 Sam Eig Highway) involving “several vehicles, including a tractor-trailer” at approximately 9:30am Tuesday morning.

Shady Grove Medical Center ICU Receives Generous Gift from Ronald and Joy Paul Family Foundation

Shady Grove Medical Center has received a generous gift from the Ronald and Joy Paul Family Foundation for a state-of-the-art replacement Intensive Care Unit. The ICU, currently under construction within a new patient tower at the hospital, will be named The Ron and Joy Paul Family Intensive Care Unit once in service.
