The magical world of Oz arrives in Gaithersburg in the form of an outdoor escape room-style experience, entirely based on the original The Wonderful Wizard of Oz novel by L. Frank Baum.

At a Gaithersburg City Council meeting earlier this month, representatives from ‘Whip Clean’ Car Wash presented the application, plans, and renderings of the proposed concept site plan for a new 11,852 square foot automatic car wash facility to be located at 353 Muddy Branch Rd. Lakelands Park Middle School was in Shelter-In-Place following a threat the school received on Friday morning. At this time police do not believe the threat is credible, but the school will remain in Shelter-In-Place and will “end the shelter as soon as possible.” In communication sent to parents, the school has asked parents not to come to the school or call their children.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a crash that involved a vehicle driven off of the roadway and into a sediment/retention pond on the southbound I-270 ramp to Montgomery Village Avenue on Thursday night.
In April we let you know that Copper Canyon Grill is requesting approval for a 1,012 square foot covered dining pier to be located on the RIO Lake. The restaurant submitted its final site plan back in July and the planning commission approved it unanimously at a September meeting. Earlier this week, Copper Canyon released new renderings of what to expect, including the finished product of other ongoing exterior renovations (photos below).
Last week, we reported that Halal Guys at 522 N Frederick Ave in the Gaithersburg Square shopping center had permanently closed. We now know that Naz’s Halal will be opening up in the recently vacated space.
