The Joint, an affordable chiropractic care center, is coming to the Montgomery Village Center and will be located between Dollar Tree and the soon-to-be open Moe’s Southwest Grill. 

The Joint Corp., a Scottsdale, Arizona based operator and franchisor of chiropractic clinics, opened 130 new clinics across the country in 2021 to bring its national count up to 706. It was originally founded in 1999 by a Doctor of Chiropractic with “a vision to transform the traditional, often misunderstood concept of routine chiropractic care by making it more convenient, friendly and affordable.” In March 2010, The Joint was re-founded with the acquisition of the original eight franchised clinics.


Tutti Frutti is in the process of transitioning its Kentlands location at 200 Kentlands Boulevard in Gaithersburg to Kung Fu Tea.

The California-based chain frozen yogurt chain started in 2008 and has stores across the United States and in over 25 countries worldwide, and opened its Kentlands location in August 2020 .


KIMCO Realty submitted Zoning Map Amendment application Z-8911-2021 and associated Concept Plan application SP-8910-2021, proposing to rezone 18501 North Frederick Avenue from C-2 (General Commercial) to CD (Corridor Development) and develop two multi-family residential buildings with ground floor commercial uses.

The shopping center is known as “Gaithersburg S.C.” and is home to MoCo’s only Bruster’s Ice Cream and Floor & Decor in the space that was once occupied by Hechinger. A new restaurant, Corner Pizza & Subs, signed on earlier this year to take over the space that was home to the first Classic Bakery location.


As we reported back in October, Lidl at 19225 Montgomery Village Ave in Montgomery Village will be holding it’s grand opening on February 9th. Lidl has announced that a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 7:40am that morning and the store will open to the public at 8am.

The store, located at 19225 Montgomery Village Ave, will hold a ribbon cutting celebration with local leaders at 7:40 a.m. The store, which will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Sunday, will offer shoppers incredible daily savings on Lidl’s highly-awarded range of products.


You’ve likely seen cranes and construction the last few months next to Lifetime Fitness in Gaithersburg. The construction is for The Carnegie at Washingtonian, a Kisco Senior Living Center, that will feature a seven-story complex with 302 one and two bedroom floorpans for independent living and memory care residences.

The groundbreaking of The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center  was last October, but the work has been more visible as of late. Situated on 8.5 acres beside RIO Lakefront at Washingtonian Center, The Carnegie is set to welcome residents in the spring of 2024.


Two weeks ago, Gaithersburg-based Novavax received approval for its Covid-19 Vaccine from the South Korean food and drug administration and filed for emergency use authorization in South Africa. In late December it received emergency authorization in India, and earlier this week Novavax announced its Australian approval.

Lil’ Cakes & Creamery at 488 N. Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg will be opening up a second location in Urbana, MD.

The new store will be located at 3272 Bennett Creek Avenue, Unit A, part of the brand new shopping center that is already home to Chipotle, Dominos, and Jersey Mike’s.
