Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFR) responded to a collision at Oakmont Avenue and Railroad Street in Gaithersburg on Friday evening where a train struck a single vehicle, prompting a large fire and rescue response.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, train traffic is stopped in both directions and several lanes, including portions of Oakmont Avenue and Route 355, are blocked while crews evaluate occupants and secured the scene.
Students in Montgomery County Public Schools’ Automotive Trades Foundation (ATF) and Information Technology Foundation programs are gearing up for their first public sale of the school year, taking place this Saturday, December 6, from 9am to 11am at Gaithersburg High School. The event will feature a wide selection of student-refurbished used cars along with professionally reconditioned computers, all restored as part of hands-on career training. A new Dunkin’/Baskin Robbins is coming to 898 Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg, filling the former Starbucks space in Muddy Branch Square (photo is a rendering, signage is not yet up).
