Rooh Bistro is now open in Gaithersburg, taking over the California Grill location in the Diamond Square shopping center in Gaithersburg (14 Bureau Drive).

Rooh, which means “soul” or “spirit”, is a Himalayan restaurant that will focus on bringing traditional and authentic southeast Asian cuisine to Gaithersburg.


Gaithersburg residents Julie Lyst and Bethany Tognocchi represented Maryland in “The Wedding Event of the Year” and were married by Randy Fenoli of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress in the middle of Central Park with 51 other couples from across the country.

They were selected out of hundreds of applicants to represent our state and were given many opportunities to share how amazing living in Maryland is!


Hot Pot Hero opened a few weeks back at the Spectrum Town Center in Gaithersburg and many have inquired about the “Rougamo” sign and bar-like area towards the back of the restaurant.

Today we were told Rougamo will be a noodle bar and that Hot Pot Hero hopes to have it ready to go by the end of this year or January.


The City of Gaithersburg has recently authorized an outline of a development plan with the new owners of Lakeforest Mall, WRS Inc.

The agreement is to set forth a framework for the redevelopment of the property (Lakeforest Mall) away from its current status as a roughly 40 year old mall to a thoughtfully designed mix of uses (including residential, commercial, and retail uses).


Kara Hibachi & Sushi is coming to the Potomac Valley Shopping Center across from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg.

I stopped in last night and was told that they expect to open by the end of the month, but it looked like there was plenty of work left to be done.
