Montgomery County has announced two free fireworks celebrations: Germantown Glory on Friday, July 4 at South Germantown Recreational Park and Mid-County Sparkles on Saturday, July 5 at Albert Einstein High School, both starting at 7 p.m. with live music and fireworks set for 9:15 p.m. In addition to the Montgomery County government events, fireworks will also take place at Gaithersburg’s SummerFest on Saturday, June 28 at Bohrer Park and at Rockville’s Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4 at Mattie J.T. Onekick Martial Arts, a well-respected name in the local martial arts community, is opening its second location at 255 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg. This new site will occupy the space formerly held by Charm City Run, which closed its doors in January after two and a half years of operation.

More than 400 Montgomery County Public Schools students in Automotive Trades and IT Foundations programs were honored at Career Day at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg for earning industry certifications, winning SkillsUSA competitions, and receiving scholarships supporting continued education and employment opportunities in automotive and technology fields.

This morning we reported that the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a shooting involving multiple suspects and a tow truck driver overnight in Montgomery Village. This afternoon we heard from the driver of the tow truck. Photos of some of the damage can be seen below.
