Attorney General Anthony G. Brown and a coalition of 21 attorneys general have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to prevent significant workforce cuts at the U.S. Department of Education (ED), arguing that the move would disrupt essential educational services. The lawsuit contends that the administration lacks the legal authority to dismantle the department without congressional approval and warns of negative impacts on students, particularly those with disabilities and financial aid recipients.

The Maryland Department of Health has announced two grant opportunities through the Center for Firearm Violence Prevention and Intervention to address gun violence by promoting safe storage education and community engagement. Maryland residents will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another approved form of identification, such as a passport, to board domestic flights or access secure federal facilities starting May 7, 2025. On March 7, 2025 U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis sentenced Jesus Manuel, age 44, of Silver Spring, Maryland, to 58 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

Last week we let you know that Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was making waves in Maryland as he filmed television series, “Kitchen Nightmares” (or a show with a similar premise) in Frederick, MD. The restaurant he was filming at, Callahan’s Seafood Bar & Grill (1808 Rosemont Ave. in Frederick, MD) has announced that it will be reopening on Tuesday, March 11th.
