Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) superintendent, Dr. Michael Martirano, announced that he will be retiring from his position, effective January 10th, 2024. Per the State of Maryland: “Governor Wes Moore today launched new workforce development programs in the public sector and hospitality industry during the Maryland Department of Labor’s third annual Maryland Apprenticeship Awards ceremony. Per the State of Maryland (11.15.23): “Today, Governor Wes Moore celebrated the winners of the Governor’s Award for Disability Culture and Achievement at the State House. The event, hosted by the Maryland Department of Disabilities and attended by Maryland Commission of Disabilities Chair Van Brooks, Maryland Department of Disabilities Secretary Carol Beatty, and Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council Executive Director Rachel London, and members of Maryland’s disability community recognized the outstanding achievements of Marylanders with disabilities. The Golden Bachelorette has yet to be announced by ABC, but a lot of fans have speculated that it would make a lot of sense after the success of ABC’s Golden Bachelor series. Rockville, MD’s very own Joan Vassos stole bachelor Gerry’s heart during her short time on the show that ended when she made the decision to return home and be with her daughter, who was having a tough time following a difficult pregnancy.
