Maryland is the only U.S. state that uses possessive apostrophes in its county names. Kareem’s Lebanese Kitchen is hiring as it prepares to open its first Washington metropolitan area location at 212 Boardwalk Place in Rio. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the restaurant is targeting an August debut. Exterior and interior construction both appear to be nearing completion.
A Clarksburg man has been sentenced to 40 months in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy that transported large quantities of cocaine from California to Maryland. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis sentenced 56-year-old Norville Clarke to 40 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. His co-defendant, 39-year-old Daniel Cruz of Los Angeles, is awaiting sentencing. (more…)
