Bassett’s Restaurant at 19950 Fisher Ave in Poolesville plans to reopen in about 2-3 weeks. The restaurant closed due to a fire on June 5.
Owner Erika Myers tells us they are working hard to get everything back up and running and that repairs are scheduled to begin on Monday. Fortunately, the fire was located in a small building in the back, with no extension to the main building.
It is illegal for any person to manufacture, possess, store, offer for sale, sell, discharge, use, burn or explode any fireworks in Montgomery County, Maryland, except that an authorized display may be conducted by a licensed pyrotechnic professional with a permit. Penalties for violations of the law include a fine up to $1,000 and/or six months in jail. All fireworks are illegal in Montgomery County, Prince George’s County and the City of Baltimore. In Montgomery County, ALL fireworks are illegal to possess or discharge including gold label sparklers. Snap-and-pop noise makers, snakes and party poppers are the only exception to this law.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision with rollover on Hadley Farms Dr and Woodfield Rd in Gaithersburg on Saturday, June 9, around 4pm. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the incident involved two vehicles. Four patients were evaluated and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire in the 2500blk of Glenallan Avenue, between Georgia Avenue and Layhill Road, at the Atelier Apartments around 6pm on Friday, May 9.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was located on the exterior of the building and there was little/minor extension. Approximately 45 firefighters responded to the scene and there were no injuries reported. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Peter’s Grill at 519 E Gude Dr in Rockville is open for business Thursday morning, according to a report by FOX5. A vehicle crashed into the restaurant Wednesday evening.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the scene of a vehicle into a building in the 500 blk of E Gude Dr in Rockville (Peter’s Grill) on Wednesday, May 7 around 7:30pm.
According to Assistant Chief with MCFRS David Pazos, two adults with non-life threatening injuries are being transported to local hospitals. Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating two commercial armed robberies of the 7-Eleven store in the12800 block of Clopper Rd. in Germantown. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
The investigation by detectives has revealed that on Saturday, July 23, 2022, the suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at the employees and demanded money. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the registers and left the scene.

No injuries were reported, and units are starting to leave the scene. Per the FSCO: At approximately 3:50 p.m., on June 4, Frederick County Sheriff Office (FCSO) deputies responded to a call for service at Park Mills Road near Monocacy Bottom Road in Frederick, for a reported vehicle crash involving a 1962 Daimler passenger car and a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle. Glenn Rice Jr., age 39, of Poolesville, Maryland, the motorcycle operator, sustained fatal injuries when he crossed the center double line and struck the passenger car head on.
The Frederick County (MD) Fire & Rescue responded and attempted lifesaving techniques. Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced Rice deceased on scene. The passenger car operator and passenger received treatment at a local hospital for minor injuries. FCSO deputies made all appropriate next of kin notifications.

We have received multiple reports of traffic on westbound ICC (MD-200) being at a standstill on Sunday afternoon. According to WTOP traffic there was a medical emergency on MD-200/Intercounty Connector westbound near the Muncaster Mill Rd overpass shortly before 1pm that has affected traffic. No additional information is currently available.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a single-vehicle crash at approximately 10:30am on Sunday morning. The crash occurred on Duvall Ln, off of West Deer Park Rd, in Gaithersburg and involved a car crashing into a tree.
