The Special Victims Investigations Division is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Walmer Miranda Gomez, a missing 14-year-old. Gomez was last seen on Monday, September 11, 2023, at approximately 7 a.m., in the 12000 block of Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton. He is 5’4″, 130 Ibs., with black hair, brown eyes, pierced ears and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.

Per MCPD: John Anthony Vigna, a former Montgomery County elementary school teacher who was convicted in 2017 for sexual abuse of students, has been released from prison.

In July 2023 the conviction of Vigna, now 58-years-old, was overturned and he was released on bond as he awaits a new trial. Since his initial conviction, additional victims have come forward.  Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division believe that there may be more.  Detectives would like to speak with any potential victims and urge them to call 240-773-5050.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Explosive Investigators are seeking information on multiple fires that occurred early Sunday morning in Gaithersburg. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, at 2:30am approximately 75 firefighters responded to the Holbrook Center (across from Gaitherburg High School) at 400blk S. Frederick Ave. near Education Blvd, for the report of a fire. Investigators indicated there were at least three separate fires, all suspicious in nature.

Around 3:15am, MCFRS units then responded to LaFrontera Restaurant at 3 Russell Ave in Gaithersburg. Several vehicles were on fire, which then spread to the building.  There were also several other “outside” fires reported in the area. A person of interest has been taken into custody. The Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jay Turner, a missing Damascus man. Turner was last seen on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at approximately 12:32 p.m., in the 24600 block of Showbarn Circle in Damascus. He is 5-feet, 6-inches tall, slim build, bald.
