According to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh, a bicyclist was struck and critically injured on Southbound Frederick Rd (MD-355) near Gunners Branch Rd/Scenery Dr around 9:35pm on Wednesday, August 30th.  Montgomery County Police tweeted the following at 10:22pm: “TRAFFIC ADVISORY – N. Frederick Avenue is closed at Plummer Drive due to a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section have arrested and charged 28-year-old Cyprian Nwaigwe with the shooting that occurred at Topgolf on Monday, August 29, 2023.

The investigation has revealed that at approximately 12:06 a.m., a 23-year-old Topgolf security guard informed Nwaigwe to leave the premises because they were closing for the night. Nwaigwe proceeded to get into a physical altercation with the security guard. The physical altercation continued to the front door area, where Nwaigwe pulled out a handgun and shot the security guard in his upper body. An 18-year-old Topgolf employee was also shot in his lower body. Nwaigwe then left the scene.


According to Montgomery County Police, “On Saturday, September 2, 2023, officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police and allied agencies, including Howard County Police Department, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint and will conduct focused enforcement on impaired driving laws.  The exact location of the checkpoint will not be disclosed in advance.

Earlier this week, Montgomery County Police has announced that during the August 25 sobriety checkpoint on northbound Georgia Avenue at Weller Road, officers from MCPD and allied agencies stopped approximately 372 vehicles and arrested 5 people for driving while impaired. Last week MCPD announced that it stopped 565 vehicles and arrested 4 people for driving while impaired during an August 18th sobriety checkpoint on northbound Frederick Road at Game Preserve Road in Gaithersburg.


Per MCPD: Sawsan Al Hadidi of Rockville has been charged with obstruction of justice and bribery after she allegedly attempted to bribe a Montgomery County Child Welfare Services (CWS) employee. The 42-year-old is accused of attempting to pay off an Assessment Social Worker, who had been assigned to investigate claims of sexual abuse against a child, which had been initiated by Al Hadidi.

The CWS employee reported that on Wednesday, July 26, Al Hadidi stated she had a gift for the investigator and presented a large amount of cash. The investigator refused the money and reported the incident. A warrant was requested and Al Hadidi was issued a summons to appear in court.


The Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Rossy Sis Rossy, a missing 17-year-old. Roast was last seen on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at her residence in the 14300 block of Georgia Ave. She is 4-feet, 8-inches tall with black hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, gray pants, white tennis shoes and carrying a Bell medium sized suitcase.

The Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Hailey Welch, a missing 16-year-old. Welch was last seen on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in the 12000 block of Tamarack Road in Silver Spring. She is 5’3″, thin build, with brown hair and brown eyes. She may be with Hagan Rousseau, who is also missing.

Today our security staff discovered that a student was in possession of one part of a ghost gun (not a complete operating firearm). As soon as this was discovered, our school security staff promptly intervened and followed our established safety protocols to address the situation immediately. The student’s parent was contacted, and the student was taken into custody by Montgomery County Police. As stated in the Montgomery County Public Schools’ Code of Conduct, having parts of a firearm on school property is illegal and prohibited.

Per MCPD: 41-year-old Steven Michael Blank, of Damascus, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of vandalism and resisting arrest, for allegedly vandalizing two marked Montgomery County Police cruisers in Damascus.

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, at approximately 7:32 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the 10200 block of Lewis Dr. for the report of a vandalism.

Lima was last seen on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at approximately 1 p.m., in the 9200 block Falls Chapel Way in Potomac. She is 5’4″, 140lbs, with brown and red hair styled in braids, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a yellow short sleeve shirt and blue jeans .

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday, August 29, 2023, at Topgolf in the 20100 block of Century Blvd. in Germantown.

At approximately 12:06 a.m., 5th District officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting. The investigation has revealed that an unknown male suspect allegedly shot two male employees following an altercation. The 18-year-old male victim was shot in the lower body and the 23-year-old male victim was shot in the upper body. The suspect then drove away in an unknown vehicle. The victims were transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Villeda was last seen on Wednesday August 23, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., in the 4100 block of Tulare Dr. in Wheaton. She is 5’6, 120 lbs, with black hair, brown eyes, pierced ears, and was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
