Michael Brown of Suitland, Maryland, was arrested and charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm in a Silver Spring parking lot on November 3, 2024, after investigators identified him through surveillance footage and later found a loaded, unregistered handgun in his possession.
Two Silver Spring residents, 24-year-old Manuel Perez and 20-year-old Jonathan Cruz, were arrested and charged in connection with a series of wheel thefts spanning over two years. Following their initial arrest on March 4, investigators linked Perez to additional thefts dating back to December 2023, leading to a search of his residence where officers recovered a firearm and fentanyl pills; he later turned himself in on March 27 and now faces additional charges. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) arrested 33-year-old Stephen Donatus Sheehy-Poore of Silver Spring for a commercial robbery at a 7-Eleven on Fenton Street. Detectives, assisted by the Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), identified Sheehy-Poore through surveillance footage, obtained a warrant, and took him into custody on March 24. (more…)
The Maryland Attorney General’s Office announced that no charges will be filed in the May 30, 2024, fatal officer-involved shooting of Bishop Jones-Daniel in Fairland, MD following an investigation by the Independent Investigations Division.
Two juveniles were arrested in Gaithersburg after allegedly burglarizing a gun store in Springfield, VA, where they used a vehicle to ram the entrance and steal multiple firearms before fleeing into Maryland. Montgomery County Police, with assistance from Fairfax County detectives and Gaithersburg Police, apprehended the suspects, recovered multiple stolen firearms, and continue to search for a third suspect.
