Montgomery County Councilmember Kate Stewart introduced Expedited Bill 16-26, known as the Financial Exploitation Protection Act, which aims to strengthen the County’s ability to address deceptive trade practices, particularly those targeting older adults and vulnerable residents.

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services will host its first “Colorectal Cancer Awareness Walk for Life” on Friday, March 20 from 11 am to 1 pm at Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreational Park in Silver Spring. The free event will focus on raising awareness about colorectal cancer prevention and the importance of early detection, with on-site registration beginning at 10:30 am.
