Omar Lazo, a community leader and business owner with longstanding involvement in local education and civic initiatives, has announced his candidacy for the Montgomery County Board of Education, At-Large.
Montgomery County’s FY25 procurement reports show a record $274 million awarded to certified Minority, Female, and Disabled-owned businesses, representing 21.21% of eligible spending, and $133 million awarded to Local Small Business Reserve Program vendors, or 33.7% of eligible spending, the highest share since the program began.
