Montgomery County officials and partners broke ground on The Chimes at North Bethesda, a planned $86 million development featuring 163 environmentally sustainable rental units, scheduled for completion in 2026. The project, which includes units for households earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income, is supported by public and private funding and aims to address the demand for affordable housing in the area. According to Montgomery County, its FY24 Vision Zero report details a reduction in serious and fatal crashes, including a 28% decrease on high-injury network corridors, through initiatives such as new traffic signals, bikeways, sidewalks, and targeted enforcement.
