Per Montgomery County: County Executive Marc Elrich responded to the passage of the FY25 Operating and Capital Budgets by the County Council. Nearly 100 percent of the County Executive’s recommended operating budget was adopted. This $7.1 billion operating budget provided MCPS with its second-highest funding increase in history and made historic investments in providing more affordable housing, improving public safety, tackling climate change and ensuring equity. Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Division are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in the area of Georgia Ave. and Connecticut Ave. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.
