There are seasons that blur together, and then there are seasons that leave behind a clear hierarchy, of programs, of players, and of performances that forced everyone else to adjust. This year in Montgomery County football was firmly the latter, and the MoCo All-County Team reflects a fall defined by dominance, adaptability, and elite two-way impact. The Montgomery County Department of Police said Sunday morning that it has increased patrols and police visibility around Jewish institutions across the county as a precautionary measure.
The County Council announced upcoming public hearings in January, including a Jan. 13 session on a proposed $2.4 million supplemental appropriation for the Public Safety Joint Operations Center and an expedited bill that would strengthen immigrant protections within County government.
Montgomery County’s Animal Services and Adoption Center will host a “Home for the Holidays” adoption event on Dec. 20–21, waiving all adoption fees and using appointments on Saturday with walk-ins welcome on Sunday.
MCPD Update: “The two-vehicle collision on Good Hope Rd. is now being investigated as a fatality. One adult male pronounced dead on scene. An adult male and juvenile in the second vehicle, transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Good Hope Rd. remains closed at this time.”
A serious traffic collision with entrapment shut down a portion of Good Hope Drive in Silver Spring (between Cloverly and Colesville) Tuesday morning, prompting a large emergency response and significant traffic delays.
