Montgomery County Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles introduced a $1 million one-time special appropriation, co-sponsored by Council President Natali Fani-González and other councilmembers, to help stabilize senior nutrition, homecare, and respite care programs impacted by federal funding cuts.

The proposal is intended as immediate relief for vulnerable residents while maintaining long-term fiscal responsibility and will be considered at a public hearing later this month.


Montgomery County will hold its 31st annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observance and Birthday Celebration on Sunday, January 18, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore, featuring a free concert with performances by local and nationally recognized artists. (more…)
