The University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) announced that 30-year-old Joshua Leo Black of Olney has been arrested and charged with two assaults that occurred at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Montgomery County has released the results of its 2021 biennial online survey of County residents.

Local civil rights icon William Harvey Zeigler has passed away at the age of 102. Zeigler was a lifelong Montgomery County resident, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Montgomery County Human Rights Hall of Fame.
A jury convicted defendant Biet Van Tran, 65, of Silver Spring on charges of first-degree murder for the stabbing death of Linh Pham, 23, and two counts of attempted first-degree murder for the attacks on Quy Luc, 30, and Thi Nguyen, 19.
Tran faces life in prison and is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Sept. 20th, 2022, at 1:30p.m.
A jury has found defendant, Joshua Toure, 26, of Boyds, guilty of first-degree felony murder, second-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, for the death of 28-year-old Joseph Davis.
Toure faces life in prison plus an additional 20 years. The verdict came down late yesterday evening, and a sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
