The Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security has issued a Heat Emergency Alert from noon Monday, June 23, through 8 a.m. Thursday, June 26, due to dangerously high temperatures and heat index values expected to reach 105 degrees, prompting the County to open cooling centers, provide free water on buses, and urge residents to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.

Per CNN, The United States attacked three nuclear facilities early Sunday in Iran. Robert E. Peary High School was located at 13300 Arctic Ave. in Aspen Hill, MD. It opened in the 1960 and closed in 1984 primarily due to declining enrollment. A Facebook group with over 4,000 members keeps its memories alive.

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at approximately 9:18 pm, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) received a 911 call from a mother reporting that her 8-year-old autistic daughter was missing from their home. MCPD shared the story of community members and 5th District officers safely locating the young girl.
