The Montgomery College class of 2025 will be recognized at the 78th Annual Commencement on Friday, May 23, with more than 1,320 graduates participating and over 3,100 total awardees representing 116 countries. The College will honor students from all campuses and programs, including four Board of Trustees Academic Excellence Award recipients, with the ceremony held at the Rockville Campus Athletic Field.
Montgomery College students Danae “Samantha” Flores-Tene and Rodin Ruiz were selected as recipients of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, which provides up to $55,000 per year to support community college students transferring to four-year institutions. The Ruppert Family Foundation has pledged $1 million over five years to support scholarships and academic coaching for early childhood education students at Montgomery College, aiming to strengthen the local workforce and address the county’s childcare shortages.
Montgomery College is calling on heroes to answer an extraordinary volunteer opportunity. On April 26 at the MC Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, the college will host a Mass Casualty Training Exercise designed to simulate emergency scenarios and prepare future health professionals for real-world crises.
Daniel Fellman, a Rockville High School and Montgomery College graduate, has been selected to give the ‘Student Spotlight’ presentation at the 60th Annual Spring Symposium on Archeology, presented by the Archeological Society of Maryland, Inc. The event takes place April 5, 2025 at The Maryland Historical Trust in Crownsville, MD.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has named 10 Montgomery College students among 467 semifinalists nationwide for its Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, selected from over 1,600 applicants across 212 community colleges. The scholarship provides financial aid, academic advising, and career support to high-achieving community college students with financial need as they transfer to four-year institutions.
