We have recently received inquiries about the canceled appearance by Henry Winkler at Montgomery College’s Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center, located at 51 Mannakee St., Rockville. We would like to remind everyone that this event was canceled last month. Originally scheduled for October 29, 2024, the event was later rescheduled to March 11, 2025, before being canceled indefinitely.
The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will host a free Landscaping with Batteries Field Day on March 12 at Montgomery College Germantown, featuring equipment demonstrations, vendor discounts, and raffles.
Montgomery College has named Bernadette Maldonado as its new vice president for Development and Alumni Relations and executive director of the Montgomery College Foundation. She brings over 20 years of experience in fundraising and advancement and will oversee philanthropic efforts and community partnerships. (more…)

On Thursday, Governor Wes Moore announced a $1.8 million investment to enhance Maryland’s cybersecurity talent pipeline, providing hands-on cyber range training at all 16 community colleges, starting with Howard Community College, to prepare over 1,100 professionals, focusing on underrepresented groups and boosting workforce development in a high-demand industry. The Montgomery College Foundation has launched its largest-ever fundraising campaign, aiming to raise $50 million to support scholarships, resources, and transformative opportunities for students and the Montgomery County community, with the campaign kickoff held at the newly dedicated Catherine and Isiah Leggett Math and Science Building.
Montgomery College (MC) has received a major campus safety grant for $562,500 provided through the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). The purpose of the Campus Safety Grant Program is to fund infrastructure improvements on Maryland campuses.
