Montgomery College will host a grand opening event for its Catherine and Isiah Leggett Math and Science Building on Thursday, September 19, at 2pm at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus.

On Thursday, Governor Wes Moore announced that the Maryland Higher Education Commission has awarded $18.75 million in campus safety grants to Maryland’s colleges and universities, including Montgomery College. Montgomery College announced earlier this month that 820 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students are participating in Montgomery Can Code camps. Montgomery Can Code is a “unique and innovative public-private partnership formed by Montgomery College, MCPS and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC)—in collaboration with Apple” that offers middle school students in Montgomery County an opportunity to learn computer coding. Montgomery College (MC) welcomed three new Board of Trustees members in July. The Board of Trustees of Montgomery College is the institution’s legal governing body and is comprised of 10 community individuals who are appointed by the governor.
