Montgomery County has seen multiple accidents across the region this morning as light snow and very cold temperatures created hazardous travel conditions.  MCFRS is warning drivers that the combination of snow and frigid pavement temperatures is making roads slick and icy, stating: “ATTENTION: SOME SNOW & VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL RESULT IN TREACHEROUS TRAVEL FOR THE FRIDAY MORNING COMMUTE… the combo of light snow and very cold temps may result in treacherous travel Friday morning. Montgomery County Council committees will meet on Dec. 1 to receive an update from the Advisory Commission on Policing and to review several zoning and landlord-tenant measures, including increased eviction notification requirements and the creation of a new University Boulevard Overlay Zone.

The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred early Friday morning on the 3300 block of Bladensburg Road, killing 20-year-old Chester Brandon of Gaithersburg. Police say the driver remained at the scene and was not injured. (more…)
