Takoma Park Police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on April 22 at approximately 12:28 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing on the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue, near the Sunoco gas station.

On April 18, 2025, at approximately 4:22 p.m., Rockville City Police responded to a reported stabbing at the Rockville Metro Station, 250 Rockville Pike. A 39-year-old male victim had been involved in a verbal altercation with two juveniles that escalated when he was pepper-sprayed, stabbed in the back, and struck multiple times with a skateboard.
The City of Takoma Park, Maryland and Ms. Kakila Cooper, a former dispatcher for the Takoma Park Police Department, have reached an agreement to settle Ms. Cooper’s claims of sex harassment and retaliation for $1 million, according to a news release by the law firm of Correia & Puth.
The Takoma Park Police Department has sent out an alert to the community informing that they have been receiving emails and phone calls from both local residents and out-of-state individuals reporting a concerning scam. Individuals are purporting to work for the City or Police Department and are contacting people with claims that they’ve won a prize, but must first pay taxes or fees to claim it. In some cases, scammers are even sending photos in an attempt to make their communication appear legitimate.
On Monday, FOX 5 shared a video submitted by a viewer showing a possible alligator sighting in a small pond at the SoccerPlex in Boyds/Germantown. Park Police said they checked the pond and surrounding area but found no evidence of an alligator.
According to the Howard County Police Department, Edward Robinson, 31, of Columbia, MD, was arrested in Gaithersburg on Friday, April 9 and charged with two counts of murder in connection with a 2020 shooting that killed 30-year-old Rabiah Ahmad and led to the death of her newborn daughter Ahja. The Takoma Park Police Department has received information that two residents (one who was targeted twice) have been contacted by phone by an unknown person purporting to be from Publishers Clearing House (PCH).
