Today, Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced his “decision not to seek charges in the September fatal officer-involved shooting in Wheaton, Montgomery County, Maryland.”
On May 24 at approximately 7:59 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the area of Carroll Avenue and Flower Avenue for a report of a collision involving a juvenile bicyclist.
On May 26, 2025, at approximately 2:42 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue (7-Eleven) for an armed robbery.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police (Montgomery County Division) responded to Lake Frank in Derwood on Saturday for a juvenile bald eagle caught in fishing line with a hook in its mouth. The eagle was rescued, treated at the Moon Owl Raptor Center, and will be released soon.
A Virginia man has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses after allegedly firing multiple shots during a Memorial Day road-rage incident on I-95 in Prince George’s County, with no injuries reported. (more…)

Following the recent fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., the Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) announced it has increased patrols near synagogues, places of worship, and community centers, and is working with local leaders to support community safety. Similarly, MCPD issued a statement on Thursday, May 22, noting that while there is no known threat, patrols around Jewish institutions have been increased out of an abundance of caution.
