A Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy is being recognized after helping reunite a runaway juvenile with their family while off duty.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents to a rise in scam calls where individuals impersonate law enforcement in an attempt to steal money. Sheriff Maxwell Uy emphasized that the Sheriff’s Office will never ask for money or financial information over the phone.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced that deputies, with assistance from Anne Arundel County Police, arrested a suspect in Anne Arundel County on a probation violation warrant related to a domestic violence case. (more…)

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies, while serving a Writ of Restitution (eviction), found an unconscious individual in a residence with a gas stove emitting gas. After securing the residence, waking the individual, and de-escalating their agitation, deputies ensured the person was safely transported to an emergency facility for necessary mental health treatment.
