Back in May we let you know that Dirty Dough is coming to 36B Maryland Ave in Rockville Town Square. The cookie shop will be taking over the location that was the longtime home of Berry Cup, which closed in the summer of 2022. According to an announcement the company posted on our website, Dirty Dough is currently hiring and preparing for a December opening.

The City of Rockville has announced that it earned a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s 13th annual Municipal Equality Index, reflecting its commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusivity through nondiscrimination laws, workplace policies, law enforcement, and community services.

Earlier today, we reported that the City of Gaithersburg had also received a 100 score on the 2024 Municipal Equality Index.


Montgomery County officials and partners broke ground on The Chimes at North Bethesda, a planned $86 million development featuring 163 environmentally sustainable rental units, scheduled for completion in 2026. The project, which includes units for households earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income, is supported by public and private funding and aims to address the demand for affordable housing in the area. Comstock Holding Companies announced today that it is partnering with SCG Development Holdings to form a joint venture that will develop an affordable housing project located on land currently owned by Comstock at 41 Maryland Avenue in Rockville, MD.

Back in September we let you know that L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will open its first Maryland location right here in Montgomery County at 785 Rockville Pike, Suite G, in the Ritchie Center (Rockville). The restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by Superbowl Noodle House, which permanently closed in March. Now we know the restaurant plans to open in January 2025 or sooner, according to the restaurant.
