Update: Maryland Attorney General’s office has provided a press release with additional information 

In an update by MCFRS Assistant Chief David Pazos, “one adult female succumbed to her injuries on the scene and was a DOA. The occupant of the rollover vehicle (adult female) was transported in critical condition to a trauma hospital. Both North and Southbound lanes of RT355 were affected.”


Update: All lanes have reopened

A police investigation has closed MD-355 Rockville Pike in both directions between Bou Avenue and Rollins Avenue/Twinbrook Parkway, according to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh.


The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has announced a free family-friendly event, “Community Safety Day,” led by local students. It’s set to take place from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, May 11, at the Carver Educational Services Center (CESC) in Rockville.

Plan focusing on the county’s life sciences industry hub in the heart of the I-270 corridor heads to County Council for review.

The Montgomery County Planning Board unanimously approved the Great Seneca Plan: Connecting Life and Science at its April 25 meeting. The plan was developed by the Montgomery County Planning Department and focuses on strengthening the economic competitiveness of the Life Sciences Center, a thriving hub that is host to a diverse population and premier life sciences, medical, and educational institutions and organizations along the I-270 corridor.
