Planet Fitness, known for its $10 basic gym membership, has announced it will be increasing the price to $15 a month for new members. Members with existing $10 memberships will see no change. The $10 membership rate has been in effect since 1998.

On May 10, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., the Rockville City Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of N. Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male, 78, suffering from a single stab wound to his upper torso.
