Wheaton High School’s National Honor Society has partnered with the City of Rockville Government to clear the area that used to be Avery Road Colored Cemetery behind Croydon Creek Nature Center. Today, the students began their work in the area.
FITRow’s ‘Day of Fitness’ Takes Place on Saturday, May 4 at Congressional Plaza in Rockville. The event will allow the public to experience outdoor classes from premier fitness studios and local influencers.

WeRateDogs is a popular Twitter/X account that rates people’s dogs on a scaled of 1-10 (with just about every dog exceeding the maximum rating) along with a humorous comment about the dog. The account was started in 2015 by college student Matt Nelson, and this week’s YouTube video included a dog from Rockville, MD coming in at #1 (full video below).
Richard Montgomery High School is the oldest public high school in Montgomery County- opening in 1892 as “Rockville High School.” The school recently published a “history of Richard Montgomery” page detailing the school’s history. Principal Alicia Deeny, the school’s only woman principal in its 130+ year history told us, “While RMs history is a huge source of pride. Seeing our students in action every day gives me incredible hope for the future of our school and community. Our kids inspire me every day.” The history of the school can be seen below:
Rockville native Helen Maroulis, 32, became the first United States woman wrestler to qualify for three Olympics games . In 2016 she was the first U.S. woman to win a gold medal in wrestling and won a bronze medal in 2020.
