Coming Soon signage is now up for a new Goodwill location in Rockville. Back in December, we reported that Goodwill was set to take over the space most recently occupied by Planet Aid at the Montrose Shopping Center, the longtime shopping center anchored by MOM’s Organic Market. The storefront, located at 5520 Randolph Road, is now clearly marked as an upcoming Goodwill.
K-Wave, a fast-growing K-Pop retail brand, is expanding to Maryland with a new location planned for Rockville. The upcoming store will open at 5534 Randolph Road in the Montrose Shopping Center, near MOM’s Organic Market and K-Pot, with an opening targeted for May 2026.
The first McDonald’s in Montgomery County opened on January 6, 1960, marking the arrival of the fast-food chain locally during its earliest years of expansion. The restaurant was located on the 1300 block of Rockville Pike, near where Best Buy stands today. A newer McDonald’s still operates at that same location.
