LionRock Cafe, a Hong Kong style cafe located at 13 Dawson Ave. in Rockville, announced via social media that it will be closing its doors soon (as soon as the restaurant runs out of food and drink).

Robert Wiedmaier’s Mussel Bar & Grille closed its 7262 Woodmont Ave Bethesda location in April 2022, but we let you know the group planned to bring the restaurant back to a new location in Bethesda in 2024. the restaurant will be reopening at 4903 Cordell Avenue on October, 16th according to a social media post by the restaurant.
Our Neighborhood Deli is now open at 240 Main St. in Gaithersburg. Our very own Mr. MoCo stopped by to support and has created a ‘first look’ video to show you what the deli, which is promising to bring authentic flavors of a classic New York deli, has to offer (video below). (more…)
Construction Begins at Isaac’s Poultry Market’s Second Location, Home of “Best Sandwich in Maryland”
Isaac’s Poultry Market has announced that construction has begun at its upcoming Burtonsville location. The restaurant will be located in the recently redeveloped Burtonsville Crossing shopping center, along side the upcoming Moby Dick and Eggspectation.

Earlier this year we let you know Kong Dog was opening a Gaithersburg location. Permanent signage is now up at Kong Dog at 12141 Darnestown Rd at the Shops at Potomac Valley shopping center in Gaithersburg (h/t @pike.and.rozay).
Southern fast-food favorite Zaxbys is set to debut in Maryland with three locations along the Eastern Shore, starting in Cambridge in late 2025, followed by Easton and West Ocean City/Berlin. Zaxbys menu features its signature fried chicken sandwiches, wings, chicken fingers (“Zaxby’s Zingers”), crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast.

The Urbana Lodge is coming soon to 3335 Worthington Blvd in the Urbana Village Shopping Center, according to a report by The Frederick Pulse. It will be taking over the space previously occupied by Buffalo Wild Wings.
Kapow Buddy ‘Thai Street Bowls’ will be soft launching at 7101 Democracy Blvd in Montgomery Mall (Entrance 4) with a 50% off special that will last from Tuesday, October 15th until Saturday, October 19th.
At the beginning of this year we let you know that Peterson Companies, which owns Rio Lakefront, submitted an application that proposed to add a floating dining pier for Guapo’s restaurant. The Gaithersburg Planning Commission approved the plan in February, but Guapo’s tells us that “the project will not be happening as of right now” and will keep us updated if anything changes.
Pacifica Café, located at 621 Center Point Way in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, will close permanently on November 28th, according to a sign posted on the restaurant’s door.
