Construction is ongoing for Bouboulina, the upcoming full-service American grill influenced by Mediterranean cuisine at 915 Meeting St. at Pike & Rose. The restaurant, which is being opened by the founders of CAVA, has a hearing for its liquor license with Montgomery County’s Alcoholic Beverage Services (ABS) on Thursday, September 5th at 11:30am.
To over 16 million followers, Keith Lee is a very familiar face. Known for reviewing food from mom and pop or family-owned restaurants while sitting in his car and providing pinpoint ratings like 8.6/10 for French fries, or 7.1/10 for chocolate cake, the MMA fighter has become one of the most influential social media personalities in the country when it comes to food and restaurants. His reviews have changed the fortune of many restaurants—some that were barely surviving went to to long lines out the door for several weeks or months after his visit. Now, he’s coming to the DMV, according to his latest social media post on Sunday night (seen below).

Updated this week with a “summer refresh,” The Eater DC ‘38 Essential Restaurants Around DC’ list offers a selection of defining culinary destinations that showcase DC and its suburbs. Four restaurants in Maryland are currently on the list (last updated on August 14th) with two of them in Montgomery County and two in Prince George’s County:
Hangry Joe’s has officially opened at 19730 Germantown Rd. Though the restaurant held a ribbon-cutting celebration on Wednesday, July 17, it didn’t officially open until Thursday, August 15th.

Raising Cane’s started its expansion into the D.C. metropolitan region when its first area restaurant in December 2022 in Sterling, VA (45545 Dulles Eastern Plaza). The first Maryland location opened in Towson in January 2023 and both stores featured lines out the door for months on several days of the week. Additional locations have opened across the state and now a College Park, MD location has been announced the corner of Route 1 and Knox Road.
MCPS is hosting its annual Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westfield Wheaton mall, located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road. (more…)

Signage is now up for Tory Burch at Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda. The luxury women’s brand, known for its shoes, handbags, accessories, jewelry, and watches, will be located on the mall’s upper level and is expected to open this fall. (more…)
