In January, we reported that Chopt (18123 Town Center Dr) and Mezeh (18129 Town Center Dr) are both “coming soon” in Olney. Back in January we let you know that Eggspectation, a restaurant that serves “elevated American cuisine with a lengthy all-day breakfast menu alongside hearty lunch and dinner fare”, is returning to Montgomery County with its upcoming Burtonsville location. We recently reported that the latest update from the restaurant revealed the goal of a fall 2024 opening, and now Burtonsville Crossing has released some renderings of what to expect (seen below).

Annapolis-based Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has opened its first Montgomery County location in the space that recently the temporary home of Locally Crafted, and previously home to Joseph A. Bank, at 201A Boardwalk Place in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront.
With Han Spot and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls now open, Rio Lakefront is looking to fill a couple more spaces in order to be fully leased. We learned today that Koi Sushi will be taking the vacant space between Chipotle and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls.
Back in March 2023, we reported that Umi Hot Pot, Sushi & Seafood Buffet would be taking over the space that was recently home to Miller’s Ale House and previously home to Hooters and Shakey’s at 1471 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Umi has shared on social media that it will be opening today– Friday, August 9th.
