After more than a decade serving the Gaithersburg community, Ted’s Montana Grill has announced it will permanently close its Downtown Crown location next month, citing the end of its lease.

While there are more than just two great places to grab a steak in Montgomery County, Silver Spring and Bethesda both scored big on Eater DC’s latest roundup of standout steakhouses in the Washington region. In the publication’s updated 17 Best Steakhouses Around D.C. guide, J. Hollinger’s Waterman’s Chophouse in Silver Spring and Medium Rare’s Bethesda location were highlighted as must-try destinations for steak lovers. Charley Prime was removed from the list as it made the transition to Charley: A Chesapeake Chophouse and Bar.
Kneads Bakeshop & Cafe, a family-owned artisan bakery based in Baltimore, is set to open its fourth location in the second quarter of 2026 at The Shops at Wisconsin Place in Chevy Chase, taking over the former Peet’s Coffee space, first reported by QSR Magazine.
