Update: The store has shared that a buyer has been found.

Dor-Ne Corset Shoppe, a cherished specialty retailer known for its expert fittings and high-quality undergarments located at 8126 Georgia Ave., has announced it will be closing after 93 years in business. The longtime owners, who are retiring, shared the news of a “going out of business, everything must go”sale earlier this month along with word that the business is now available to purchase.


Update: An opening date of 12/18 is now official.

Dave’s Hot Chicken is preparing to make its long-awaited debut on Rockville Pike, with the restaurant now expected to open in “about two weeks,” according to a representative from the chain’s White Oak location. The Rockville store is currently scheduled to open a couple days before Christmas (exact date not provided), marking the brand’s second location in Montgomery County.


The Five Guys restaurant at 3333 Olney Sandy Spring Road has officially closed its doors, ending years of service as a staple stop for local families, students, and commuters. The restaurant permanently closed at the end of business on Sunday, December 7, as we reported last week.

In August, we reported that Chipotle planned to bring a new standalone location to Gaithersburg. The project is officially moving ahead, as the City of Gaithersburg Planning Commission has approved the 2,385SF restaurant that will also have a drive-thru. The build will require demolishing an old bank building on the property, a structure that has not operated as a bank for at least ten years.

Uchiko, the nationally acclaimed sister concept to Austin’s award-winning Uchi, is officially moving forward with its first Maryland location in Bethesda. According to county records, the restaurant has received its permit to begin a $4.6 million interior build-out at 7315 Wisconsin Avenue, the former Ruth’s Chris Steak House space. The 9,000 SF restaurant is now slated for a mid-2026 debut, marking one of the region’s most anticipated culinary arrivals.
