Downtown Bethesda is set to welcome a new culinary addition as Takumi Japanese Bistro and Bar prepares to open its doors at 4929 Bethesda Avenue. The new restaurant will occupy a space with a rich history of Asian-inspired dining, previously home to Wang Dynasty and, for 15 years before that, the beloved Shanghai Village.

Bao Bei has announced it will close its ghost kitchen at 11910 Parklawn Drive on August 1, after three years of service. To mark the occasion, the restaurant is offering 30% off your entire order on the Toast app with the code FINALDAYS. A new 1,903-square-foot location is set to open soon at 12055 Rockville Pike in Montrose Crossing (next to the former Honey Pig space), with a grand opening date to be announced soon. (more…)

Dolan Uyghur Cuisine, a highly anticipated addition to the Montgomery County dining scene since we shared the news a few weeks back, is set to hold its soft opening on Tuesday, August 5th. The restaurant, which specializes in authentic Uyghur dishes from Central Asia, will be located at 20-A Maryland Ave in Rockville, within The Square at Rockville, in the space formerly occupied by Kung Fu Kitchen and Peter Chang Rockville.
King Arthur Baking Company at the Shops at Wildwood, located at 10207 Old Georgetown Rd has announced it will hold its grand opening on Saturday, August 2. This space, formerly home to Indigo Octopus until June 28th, will mark King Arthur Baking’s first location in Maryland. Indigo Octopus is relocating to Bethesda Row.

Maryland’s all-you-can-eat pizza landscape has seen its final Cici’s slice disappear with the recent closure of the Frederick location at 5010 Buckeystown Pike. This marks the complete departure of the popular pizza buffet chain, according to the Cici’s Pizza website. The Frederick location’s phone number is no longer in service, and the restaurant is marked as closed on Google and Yelp. Additionally, it has been removed from the corporate website.
“Opening Soon” signage is now up for Spirit Halloween at the former Party City location at Westfield Wheaton (11160 Veirs Mill Rd). (more…)
