Korean bbq is a communal dining experience that involves grilling marinated meat and sharing side dishes over a grill. The meal often includes a variety of meat like beef, pork, or chicken, often cut into small, tender pieces. While Northern Virginia used to be one of the most popular areas in the country for this kind of cuisine, Maryland has made its move in recent years with plenty of options– many of which have been included in Eater DC’s list of “Where to Eat Korean Barbecue Around D.C.”:

Authentic African Restaurant, a new restaurant that features cuisine from various parts of the continent of Africa with a focus on cuisine from Ghana, opened last month at 13075 Wisteria Dr in Germantown Plaza. Last October we let you know Dunkin’ will be taking over the space that was previously home to $2.49 Cleaners, at 12196 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton-Glenmont, on the same block as Trippy Tacos and Seafood in the Buff and near Popeyes. Now we know that a $500K permit has been granted for construction to begin on the space, per Maryland Newsletters.
