Taco Bar at 3 Russell Ave in Olde Towne Gaithersburg has reopened following its closure due to a fire caused by an arson spree in September 2023. Currently in a soft opening phase, the restaurant plans a grand reopening in mid-February. (more…)
Kung Fu Tea will close its location at 11802 Rockville Pike in Pike & Rose after nearly ten years. January 30th will be the last day. The location started as Tutti Frutti.
Washingtonian Magazine has released its 2025 list of “100 Very Best Restaurants” and Maryland restaurants made the list. The full list includes “restaurants in DC, Maryland, and Virginia that wowed us with food but also with grace notes.” Below you’ll see the Maryland restaurants that were included:
The iconic Dunkin’ at 2405 Reedie Drive in Wheaton is temporarily closed as it undergoes major renovations. An exact reopening date isn’t available, but the remodeling appears to be extensive for the store that has been there for more than 50 years. Le Macaron opened its Gaithersburg location at 7 Grand Corner Ave. at Rio Lakefront back in December 2023. The restaurant held a grand opening celebration on January 23, 2024 and the City of Gaithersburg proclaimed the date “Le Macaron Day.” To celebrate. The store is giving away a free macaron to the first 500 customers on Wednesday, January 23.
Dumpling District will be taking over the space at 19775 Frederick Rd in Germantown’s Fox Chapel Shopping Center that was most recently home to Bonchon.

bartaco has signed on to open its first Maryland location at 11886 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. It will be taking over the space that was previously home to Nada, which had a nearly eight year run that came to an end last September.
Last April we let you know that local restaurant group Moby Dick House of Kabob signed on to open a new restaurant in Potomac’s Cabin John Village. The new location will be adjacent to Colony Grill on the back side of the shopping center and an opening timeframe has been set, according to a report.
