Kusshi ko, a restaurant by the folks who have brought you Kusshi Sushi (Pike & Rose), Hanaro (Bethesda), and Poke Dojo (Bethesda Row), will be moving into the location formerly occupied by Gusto in Downtown Silver Spring (8512 Fenton Street).

For now, management tells us they know that sushi will be part of what the restaurant offers, but they’re looking into doing more than just sushi with the space. “We know it‘ll be more quick service style,” owner Wesley Yao tells us.


The Burger King located at 16004 Shady Grove Rd has been temporarily closed for renovations since the start of 2021.

We stopped by earlier to take a look at the progress and it looks as though the exterior of the building is almost ready to go, but there’s plenty of work to be done on the interior and in the surrounding parking and drive-thru areas (photos below).


Call Your Mother, the award-winning Jew-ish deli, at Pike & Rose will open TOMORROW (Monday, September 20th). Located at 11807 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda, MD, the bagel shop and deli will feature homemade, signature bagels, creative sandwiches, coffee, and nostalgic pastries.

Back in March we let you know that Zofia’s Kitchen would be taking over the location that was home to Mahshad Modern Persian Kitchen in King Farm at 404 King Farm Blvd.

There wasn’t any progress after the Zofia’s Kitchen Instagram post announcing the location and a “space available” sign was put up a couple months back. We called Zofia’s Kitchen this morning, which now operates as Rogi, and were told that the deal fell through and that there are currently no plans to move into the area.


Damascus Native Wil Armstrong Completes Cross Country Bike Ride For ALS

72 days after commencing his cross country, against the wind bike ride for ALS, Damascus native Will Armstrong has completed his trip. He started on June 26th from Rehoboth Beach, DE, and finished September 6th in First Beach La Push, Washington. 


Last December we let you know that MoCo passed legislation banning single-use straws at restaurants. In December, restaurants will have to post information about straws no longer being provided to customers.

The contemporary American neighborhood staple offers seasonally changing brunch, lunch, and dinner menus featuring hand-selected local produce, meats and more, alongside thoughtfully curated beverages. 


Let’s Taco, which described itself as authentic Mexican, is coming to Pike Kitchen (1066 Rockville Pike) “very soon” according to its website.

The menu features tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and speciality items such as a birria quesadilla, birria ramen, Mexican dip sandwich, crab fries, and elotes (Mexican street corn).
