Back in January we let you know that bartaco  signed on to open its first Maryland location at 11886 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. The restaurant has received a permit valued at $1.12 million and has started to work on renovating the space, according to Maryland Newsletters. We’ve all heard of New York and Chicago style pizza, but we have our own style of pizza here in Maryland. As we discussed in our inaugural podcast back in 2014 due to our very own Mr. MoCo’s enthusiasm for this type of pizza, Maryland-style pizza is characterized by its rectangular shape, biscuity crust, sweet tomato sauce, and smoked provolone cheese.

Bethesda’s dining scene has a new flavor with the  opening of Tasty Grills & Catering, an Afghan restaurant that has taken over the space formerly occupied by Fortune Cookie, Banana Leaves Asian Cafe, and North China Restaurant. Located at 7816 Old Georgetown Road, the new establishment promises to bring a rich culinary heritage to the heart of the community.

The highly anticipated new full-service Thai restaurant, Ah’haan by Bangkok Garden, is officially opening its doors in Gaithersburg today (Sunday, August 17th). The restaurant is located at 237 Kentlands Blvd., in the space formerly occupied by Good Fortune Cafe.
