The City of Gaithersburg and the Gaithersburg–Washington Grove Fire Department are set to celebrate the unofficial end of summer with the highly anticipated 87th Annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 10am. This year, the parade will be emceed by our very own Alex Tsironis, the founder of The MoCo Show. Leading the procession as Grand Marshal will be John Bauer, who serves as the Chair of the Gaithersburg Planning Commission and has been named the 2025 Distinguished Resident.

Update: The deceased is identified as Madina Rhine, 36, of McLean, Virginia. Emergency medical service personnel from Montgomery County pronounced Rhine deceased at the scene. She was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.

Shortly before 10:20pm last night, Maryland State Troopers from the Rockville Barrack were dispatched to the outer loop of I-495 prior to the American Legion Bridge for a welfare check. Upon their arrival, troopers located an unattended silver Toyota 4Runner on the right shoulder. Moments later, a woman was located, later identified as Rhine, lying unresponsive directly below I-495 along MacArthur Boulevard.


According to the Farmers’ Almanac‘s 2025-2026 Winter Outlook we are in store for a “cold, snow filled” winter here in Maryland, along with surrounding areas like. Northern Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, and much of the Atlantic Coast into New Jersey, New York, and New England area.

The pizzeria, which opened in May 2024, will be taking over the vacant space directly behind their existing establishment, paving the way for some exciting improvements to enhance the customer experience.

Back in January we let you know that bartaco  signed on to open its first Maryland location at 11886 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. Fresh off a triumphant showing at the White Marlin Open, basketball legend Michael Jordan is back in Ocean City, Maryland, to try his hand at another of the area’s premier fishing events, the MidAtlantic Tournament. Jordan and his crew aboard the “Catch 23” are hoping to build on their recent success as they compete in a new field of elite anglers.
