The City of Gaithersburg is continuing its work on updating the Master Plan. The next effort is called Build Gaithersburg 2040, which will be revising both the Land Use and Transportation Elements, looking out to 2040.  Both plans were last updated in 2011 and 2010 respectively. The City of Gaithersburg has posted its second survey for residents to provide feedback.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) has issued a statement regarding an incident on Thursday, July 17, in which water was discharged from Silver Spring Fire Station 16 next to Montgomery Blair Baseball Stadium, leading to the cancellation of a Thunderbolts game. (more…)


Montgomery County Police have arrested 44-year-old Nicholas Lloyd of Germantown for allegedly shooting three people during an ongoing dispute outside his home on Shadyside Way on July 16, 2025. He faces multiple attempted murder and assault charges and is being held without bond.

Thursday night’s game between the Silver Spring-Takoma Park Thunderbolts and the Metro SoCo Braves at Montgomery Blair Baseball Stadium was canceled after the field was sprayed with water from a fire hose.
