Joann Fabrics & Crafts has announced it is closing 500 of its 800 stores, including its locations at 2A Bureau Dr in Gaithersburg and 11160 Veirs Mill Rd Unit 180 in Wheaton. Additional Maryland locations closing include Bel Air, Brandywine, California, Columbia, Hagerstown, Frederick, Lavale, Parkville, and Prince Frederick. In October, Buy Buy Baby announced that it will be closing all existing stores and transforming into a digital-first brand “focusing all our energy on providing an exceptional online shopping experience.” As the last of the remaining stores set to close, the Buy Buy Baby brand has been purchased by the owner of Bed Bath & Beyond.
