La Table Du Chateau, A New French Breakfast and Brunch Spot, To Open Every Weekend at Pike & Rose

Mark your calendars for a new culinary experience as Chef Max Zelenkov, an entrepreneur who once navigated the challenges of adapting to a new culture, proudly announces the grand opening of La Table Du Chateau on Saturday, July 22, 2023 (weekends 8am-3pm). Situated inside of The Block at Pike and Rose (967 Rose Ave. North Bethesda), this breakfast and brunch destination invites guests to savor the delightful flavors of French cuisine, blended with a touch of home and a dash of international inspiration.

Chef Max Zelenkov’s journey began when he emigrated as a Ukrainian/Russian native to the United States and was raised and pursued his education in Montgomery County. MoCo, a melting pot of culture and tradition, was the perfect setting to foster Chef Max’s fascination with the world’s diverse culinary traditions.

Free Chicken in Exchange for School Supplies Tonight at Nando’s Peri Peri

Nando’s Peri Peri is offering a free ¼ chicken in exchange for a donation of a new back-to-school item today, July 18, from 4-7pm at all its locations. The promotion is recognition of Nelson’s Mandela’s birthday. Nando’s has Montgomery County locations in Gaithersburg, North Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Wheaton.

“July 18th is Nelson Mandela’s birthday. His birthday is recognized and celebrated world wide as Mandela day; a day for us all to inspire change and make a difference in our communities. Six Suspects Ranging From 13 to 28-Years-Old Arrested for Stealing $49,000 Worth of Merchandise From MoCo Retail Stores

Per MCPD: Six suspects involved in a string of retail store pack thefts have been arrested. The six suspects; two adults and four juveniles, all from Washington, D.C., are accused of entering retail stores in groups and stealing large amounts of items from eleven Montgomery County stores between April 28 to June 15, 2023.

They are also suspected of pack thefts in D.C., and Anne Arundel County. During each of the thefts, the suspects used vehicles that were stolen or carjacked from D.C. The first of the two adults, 28-year-old Shaquille Pittman, is being held without bond. He is accused of stealing from Target on Western Ave (4/29/23), Ulta in the Congressional Shopping Center (5/8/23) and (6/15/23), Sephora in Pike and Rose (5/31/23), and The Nike Store on Arlington Road (6/8/23).

The Block Food Hall in Pike & Rose Resumes Selling Alcohol

The Block Food Hall, which offers “various unique Asian eateries in an upbeat community-focused setup with a bar, sports on TV, and weekend DJs nightlife,” at 967 Rose Ave in North Bethesda has reopened its “Block Bar”. The food hall had paused the sale of alcoholic beverages back in April. A representative from The Block tells us that the new operating hours will be 12pm-10pm daily.

Fox 5’s Zip Trip To Kick-Off 2023 Season in Pike & Rose

Fox 5 will kick off its 2023 Zip Trip season in Pike & Rose this upcoming Friday. Last year, FOX 5 visited 15 cities across our region of the country that we call home through their Zip Trip series. FOX 5 Zip Trip is a weekly Friday series that highlights the best spots to visit around the D.C. region area that includes on-air personalities and crew who will broadcast live from the properties to highlight the local businesses and community.

In 2023, Fox 5 will continue that by visiting 15 more cities, starting with MoCo’s very own Pike & Rose this Friday, May 26th. At each stop, they plan to “show you the incredible people and places that make the DMV special all summer long. From must-stop locations, to tasty restaurants – to compelling community members, you won’t want to miss a minute!” The Zip Trip events start early, usually around 6am, and last throughout the morning. Fox 5 Zip Trip will return to MoCo, in Germantown, on August 4th.

BIBIBOP Offering Free Bowls to All Teachers Today, May 2

BIBIBOP Asian Grill, which has locations in Downtown Silver Spring (935 Ellsworth Drive) and Pike & Rose (11584 Old Georgetown Rd. Unit 1126), is offering free bowls for all teachers on Tuesday, May 2. BIBIBOP offers fully customizable bowls with your choice of proteins, bases, toppings, and sauces. MCPD Respond to Shooting at Pike & Rose Late Saturday Night

Montgomery County Police responded to reports of a shooting Saturday night at Pike & Rose. According to MCPD, “At approximately 11:50 p.m., MCPD responded to the area of Pike and Rose for the report of a shooting. Preliminarily investigation revealed a dispute occurred inside a restaurant. The male subjects left the restaurant. Shots were fired. No injuries were reported. Items of evidentiary value were recovered at the scene. No one is in custody at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.”
